Boil Water Advisory Notice - Further Regions Lifted

The source water in all the creek systems has now cleared up now that the rain has stopped. Council has undertaken a substantial program to flush the dirty water out of the mains.  Water quality testing has confirmed that water quality is now acceptable in most regions but in some areas the boil water alert must stay in place until advised otherwise.

The boil water alert status of impacted communities is outlined below:

Nyleta Water Supply Scheme - Boil Water Alert is Lifted for all Communities

• Silkwood East and West 

• Kurramine Beach 

• El Arish 

• Bingil Bay 

• North Mission 

 

Boulder Ck Supply Scheme - (Tully)

• Tully town - Boil Water Alert Lifted.

• Bulgun - Boil Water Alert Lifted.

• Silky Oak - Boil Water Alert Lifted.

• Euramo - Boil Water Alert Lifted.

• Jarra Creek - Boil Water Alert Lifted.

• Hull Heads - Boil Water Alert Lifted. 

• Tully Heads - Boil Water Alert Lifted. 

 

Bulgun Ck Supply Scheme - (Tully Rural)

• Feluga - Boil Water Alert Still in Place.

• East Feluga - Boil Water Alert Still in Place.

• South Mission Beach - Boil Water Alert Still in Place. 

• Wongaling - Boil Water Alert Still in Place. (South of Mission Circle)

• Merryburn - Boil Water Alert Still in Place.

 

Cardwell Supply Scheme - Boil Water Alert is Lifted for all Communities

• Ellerbeck

• Cardwell 

• North Cardwell

• Port Hinchinbrook

• Stony Ck

• Kennedy

• Carrachan

 

 

Residents and businesses which are still in the boil water affectedareas are advised to boil water for use in the following activities:

- Drinking

- Brushing teeth

- Washing or preparing food that is not going to be cooked

- Preparing baby formula

- Making ice

 

The program of flushing and testing is continuing but the alert cannot be lifted without approval from Queensland Health.

Cassowary Coast Regional Council apologises for the inconvenience and will provide updates as they become available. Council asks that this advice be shared with neighbours and friends in the affected area.
