Free Simultaneous Storytime Events at our Libraries

'The Cow Tripped Over the Moon' storybook will be read to hundreds of Cassowary Coast children at libraries on National Simultaneous Storytime Day.

The event will be held on Wednesday 24 May at 11am at the Innisfail Regional Library, Tully Library, Wongaling Beach Library and Cardwell Library - as well as thousands of other libraries, schools, childcare centres and bookshops around the nation.

Cassowary Coast Library staff members are encouraging children and parents or carers, as well as school or pre-school classes, to come to the libraries for a morning of fun.

"The Cow Tripped Over the Moon" was written by Australian author Tony Wilson and is a bestseller with a message about friendship and perseverance that is a fun take on well-known children's rhyme "Hey Diddle Diddle".  Other favourites by Tony Wilson include "Grannysaurus", "Harry Highpants", "The Emperor’s New Clothes Horse" and "Emo the Emu".

The annual event promotes the fun of books and the value of reading and literacy.
