June 10, 2020 - Water Works Update - Tully
💧 WATER WORKS UPDATE
Thank you to Council's Water Team who continue to work hard at upgrading water mains in Murray, Blackman, Henry and Cook Streets, Tully.
This project is part of an ongoing Council program to replace old water main assets that have service issues and have reached the end of their functional life.
Works are still underway to replace the existing 1945 cast iron main which has severe internal ferric corrosion. Works are expected to be completed late August. The new main will improve water flow and pressure in the area, particularly firefighting flows!
⚠️ THIS WEEK'S PLANNED WORKS:
Road crossing on Henry Street at the intersection with Bryant Street.
Cut in on existing Main on corner of Curtis Street and Murray Street beside QMAC business. Next update will be 15 June 2020.
🚦 CURRENT TRAFFIC DISRUPTION:
Closure of Henry Street, Tully at Fiveways Roundabout on 10 June.
There will be access for local traffic only via Fiveways Roundabout.
✅ WORKS COMPLETED TO-DATE:
Plumbers have completed a mains road crossing on Murray Street – adjacent to QMAC business. Replacement of water main along Murray Street around to the front of Red Hill Store (Fiveways intersection). Replacement of main across the road in Blackman Street and then continuing up Henry Street towards Bryant Street.
