Last chance to have your say on tourism strategy
The Cassowary Coast Regional Council (CCRC) and Tropical Coast Tourism (TCT) are calling on the community to have their final say on the draft Cassowary Coast Region Tourism Strategy.
Prepared by Council and the region’s industry based Local Tourist Organisation – Tropical Coast Tourism (TCT), the draft strategy is aimed at helping reposition the Cassowary Coast as an important player in the international and domestic tourism markets in Far North Queensland.
Cassowary Coast Councillor Ben Heath said the strategy is a collaboration between Council staff and TCT.
“Everyone has worked really hard on providing this document which is a blueprint for the tourism industry in the Cassowary Coast to move forward and grow,” said Cr Heath.
“It is now time we hear from the community and incorporate their feedback as no one knows the place better than locals.
“We want to hear what you as a community think would work and have everyone having a vision that moves in the same direction.”
If you have any comments on the draft Cassowary Coast Region Tourism Strategy, please make your submission either via mail (Cassowary Coast Regional Council - PO Box 887, Innisfail, Qld, 4860) or email firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
Community consultation closes on Wednesday 31 October.
The draft strategy can be found on Council’s website via http://www.cassowarycoast.qld.gov.au/tropical-coast-tourism-tct-draft-cassowary-coast-region-tourism-strategy.
Public comments will be further considered by both the TCT Board and the Council while further consultation with the Chamber of Commerce’s will be undertaken.
