Mission Beach pool to officially open in September

The wait is over for residents eager to take a dip in the new Mission Beach pool with the facility ready to open to the public on a casual basis from this Saturday 18 August.

Council would like to update the community on important information for patrons prior to the facility opening.

Initially, opening hours will be:




Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday


5.30am – 7.30am and 4.00pm – 6.00pm


Saturday and Sunday


10.00am – 6.00pm


Upcoming School Holidays

(Monday, 24 September - Sunday, 4 October)


7.00am – 7.00pm


The above opening hours are subject to change dependent on attendance figures and the level of interest being generated within the community in extending the opening hours.

The pool will operate on a cash only basis in the initial stages of its operation. Also, there is currently no canteen facilities.

Pool admittance charges are $4.00 for an adult, $3.00 for pensioners, $3.50 for children and $2 for non-swimming spectators.

The complex is a pet-free area.

This project received $3.49 million in funding each from the Australian and Queensland governments through the National Stronger Regions program and Building our Regions.

An official opening will be held in September.
