Touring Show: The Magic of Fred Astaire

An all-singing all-dancing tribute to Hollywood legend Fred Astaire is touring Queensland and can be seen at the Innisfail Shire Hall on Thursday 18 May.

Cassowary Coast Regional Council has brought "A Fine Romance: The Magic of Fred Astaire" to the region as part of the Morning Melodies program and is encouraging residents to come along and enjoy a morning of old-world glamour and charm with plenty of toe-tapping tunes and legendary dance routines from the 1920s, 30s and 40s.

Touring performers Joe Meldrum and Imogen Moore star in "A Fine Romance: The Magic of Fred Astaire" - an entertaining tribute to the man who went on to become the most famous dancer of all time.  The show takes audiences from Fred's humble beginnings on Broadway to his Hollywood days and on-screen romances with his many leading ladies including Ginger Rogers, Judy Garland, Audrey Hepburn and Rita Hayworth.

Songs include The Way You Look Tonight, They Can’t Take That Away From Me, Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off, Cheek to Cheek, Puttin’ on the Ritz, Top Hat, That’s Entertainment and many more.

For tickets to "A Fine Romance: The Magic of Fred Astaire", phone Council on 4030 2250 or visit Council's customer service desks in the Innisfail Shire Hall, Tully Civic Centre and Cardwell Library.  Tickets are $16 pre-paid or $20 at the door and they include morning tea.  Doors open at 10am for a 10.30am start.
