Tully Showgrounds to receive new grandstand
Tully residents can cheer on their local ruby league team in a new grandstand with the Cassowary Coast Regional Council allocating $1.5 million in the 2018/19 budget.
Mayor John Kremastos said the funding includes the first phase of the grandstand and upgrades to the water mains.
“This project will be undertaken in two phases, with completion expected by 2020,” said the Mayor.
“Sport is a huge part of our life here on the Cassowary Coast and with the grounds being home to the Tully Tigers, it was something we as a Council were passionate about to give back to the community.
“This is not only a huge boost for local sporting organisation, but to the residents of Tully and the surrounding areas.”
