Inaugural Cassowary Coast Region Garden Competition

The Cassowary Coast Regional Council is pleased to launch the inaugural Cassowary Coast Region Garden Competition. Persons and organisations interested in entering the Competition can obtain Entry forms and Competition Guidelines by downloading below or from the Northern Office in Rankin Street Innisfail, Southern Office in Bryant Street Tully, and Library Branches in Cardwell and Wongaling Beach. All enquiries to Council on 4043 9127.

Please note Entries close on Monday, 25th August 2008 and this year’s Garden Competition will be judged on the 4th – 6th September 2008.

As well as competing for the Rose Layt Perpetual Trophy for the “Champion Garden”, gardeners will be competing for prizes in the following categories:

  1. Home Garden (Open) – Residential
  2. Home Garden (Open) – Rural
  3. New Home Garden (2 years old and under)
  4. Tropical Garden – Residential
  5. Tropical Garden – Rural
  6. Pensioner’s Garden – Residential
  7. Pensioner’s Garden – Rural
  8. Front Garden
  9. Outdoor Living Area
  10. Commercial Garden
  11. Tourist Accommodation
  12. Vegetable Garden
  13. Schools
