Motorists and pedestrians may encounter short delays while council work crews complete minor maintenance work on Innisfail’s Jubilee Bridge during the next several weeks.
However, one lane on the bridge will remain open and traffic control measures will be in place to ensure that bridge commuters aren’t left twiddling their thumbs for more than a minute or two, advises Cassowary Coast Regional Council, acting Manager of Works, Richard Pickering.
“We are only undertaking minor work such as painting hand rails and balustrades, and replacing worn planks on the foot bridge,” he said.
“No major delays are expected to traffic crossing the bridge.”
