PV: 067/09 – Apprentice Boilermaker/Welder, Innisfail

The Cassowary Coast Regional Council is keen to maximise employment opportunities for residents and school leavers and is seeking applications from persons who wish to gain a trade qualification as a Boilermaker/Welder. The successful applicant will be employed by Skill360, with Cassowary Coast Regional Council being the host employer for the duration of the apprenticeship.

The apprenticeship will involve on the job training and instruction as well as formal external studies. This apprenticeship is a full time position. It is expected that the successful applicant will commence their apprenticeship in February 2010. The successful applicant will possess good literacy and numeracy skills; completion of secondary school to Year 10 (minimum); and previous experience or Pre-Vocational training associated with the trade is desirable.

PV: 068/09 – Assets Inspector, Innisfail

The salary range for this position is $49,745.60 – $57,721.11 p.a., Level 3-4 QLD Local Government Officers’ Award 1998 & Cassowary Coast Regional Councils Enterprise Bargaining Agreement. A Locality Allowance also applies.

The Assets Inspector is responsible for assisting with the delivery of best practice of inspections for standard of roads, drainage, bridges and footpath maintenance and includes inspections of Main Roads RMPC Contract. The successful applicant will possess a demonstrated knowledge of State Government road, bridge and drainage design, construction and maintenance standards and requirements and at least three (3) years experience in civil construction and maintenance activities.
