The Cassowary Coast Regional Council is accepting monetary donations towards the 2023 Community Christmas Appeal (Appeal) from Tuesday 7 November to Monday 18 December 2023.
The Appeal supports local community organisations that provide tangible help including pastoral care and financial assistance during the Christmas period.
Historically, Christmas time can put extra pressure on families, especially those who have limited income and the more vulnerable members of our community. In particular, the last few years have seen an increase in household living expenses. The Appeal aims to provide a little relief with the increased financial stress often felt at this time of year.
The Appeal relies on the support of local donors and is additional to the role played by local Agencies. It is not possible without financial contributions from local individuals, families, groups and businesses.
Council advertises and facilitates the collection of the monetary donations, with all proceeds donated back into the community via recipient organisations.
100% of the funds received will be distributed to the community via this year’s recipient organisations:
