The former Cardwell and Johnstone Shire Councils ceased to exist on the 14th of March 2008.
The existing Town Planning schemes of both former Councils will remain in use until they are reviewed and a new Town Planning scheme is developed for the Cassowary Coast Region.
This process can take years to complete and involves extensive community consultation and state interest checks before a new Town Planning scheme can be adopted
If you wish to make a new building or development application you will need to do so under the relevant scheme that applies to the area. Applications for either area can be made at the Innisfail or Tully offices.
Current fees and charges will remain in place until the new 2008/09 Budget is approved by Council.
