Different titles are available on each service and can be downloaded to your computer or mobile device. Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period - so that means no overdue books!

Reading aloud to children, in particular by diverse and engaging storytellers, greatly improves language and literacy skills - especially in the early years of a child's development. The National Geographic Virtual Library collection brings together the complete archive of National Geographic Magazine - every page of every issues from 1888 to present (one month embargo). Library members are also able to access the PAW (people, animals, world) collection - a cross-searchable collection of National Geographic books, images, maps and videos as well as National Geographic Traveller Magazine from 2010 to the present.

Good Reading's Hub for Book Lovers gives you free and open access to loads of articles about books and authors, plus independant reviews of the latest books. There are many by Australian and New Zealand authors, as well as some old favourites that we need to be reminded of, just because they are so good!
Join the online communtiy of book lovers and access the digital version of the Good Reading print magazine, create lists of books you'd like to read, books that you want to recommend to others, and see what books others are enjoying.
Good Reading also publishes SpineOut e-magazine for teens and PK Mag e-magazine for kids.
SpineOut is an interactive online magazine, by and for high school students. A space where Australia's brilliant young creatives can express their thoughts and share their creativity, SpineOut publishes stories, articles, reviews and art.
PK mag is an Australian digital only magazine for creative primary school age kids in years 3 to 6. PK encourages students to submit their creative works and experience the thrill of being published. Suitable submissions include short stories, poems, art, craft, reviews, musical performances, science projects and more! Published every 2 months, the magazine also includes interviews with children's authors, sporting heroes and competitions.
State Library of Queensland (SLQ) provides free access to e-books through their One Search library catalogue.
ebrary and EBL (Electronic Book Library) contain over 200,000 e-books on a variety of of subject areas, excluding popular fiction and reference material such as hand books and encyclopedias. To access this service, you will need to use your Cassowary Coast Libraries membership card to create an SLQ online membership.
