October 2, 2019 - Top tenors in return performance for Innisfail
Three of Australia’s top tenors will return to Innisfail for a special performance of timeless songs.
The operatic powerhouse trio known as Tenori will combine an entertaining mix of music ranging from opera to theatre, pop and jazz.
The trio - David Kidd, Craig Atkinson and Andrew Pryor - put their unique stamp on timeless songs by Puccini, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Andrew Lloyd-Webber, Simon & Garfunkel, Verdi and Peter Allen, among others.
The three Queensland tenors met while touring internationally with The Ten Tenors; performing in venues such as London’s Royal Albert Hall, and the Sydney Opera House.
They also have been hugely popular on prestige international cruise ships such as the Queen Mary 2.
They worked apart for a while with groups such as Opera Australia, Opera Queensland and many of the country’s finest orchestras. However they’re now back together again for their Timeless tour, and the release of a new album.
Tenori have performed just once before in Innisfail, about four years ago to a near-capacity crowd.
Their return performance is expected to be even bigger, as a part of the Morning Melodies concert program supported by the Cassowary Coast Regional Council.
The program helps bring musical entertainment acts to the region, with six concerts a year by different artists
“I’m sure people are looking forward to Tenori returning to the shire hall because they were so well received last time,” says councillor Mark Nolan, from the Cassowary Coast Regional Council.
“More live performers are coming to the region, and it’s great to have Tenori performing at Innisfail again. It will be a great show.”
The concert will be held on Tuesday, October 15. Morning tea is included and doors open 10am for a 10.30am start.
Tickets are $20 at the door of the Innisfail Shire Hall, or $16 pre-bought (recommended to avoid missing out) from any council office in the region, or online through www.trybooking.com/ZUXR
