CCRC teams up with famous dog trainer
The Cassowary Coast Regional Council (CCRC) has teamed up with famous dog trainer Scott Hunt as part of the new animal management campaign to educate pet owners on how to be more responsible.
Famous in the eighties for his Frisbee champion border collie Kenny Dog Wonder, Hunt can be remembered from the popular kids TV show Kids Army, and his critically acclaimed dog training handbook the Black & White Dog Book.
Hunt said he felt there was a need to team up with the CCRC to reduce the numbers of animal issues in the region.
“This campaign aims to bring about heightened awareness of the issues surrounding dog ownership with the goal of changing behaviour of some owners and as a direct result improving the life and welfare of our four legged companions,” said Hunt
“Be as awesome as your dog thinks you are, dog behaviour lies with the owner.”
Hunt said the only way to improve the region’s animal issues is to educate pet owners on what it means to have a pet.
