Eight bridges to undergo rehabilitation

Cassowary Coast Regional Council (CCRC) will begin the rehabilitation and replacement of eight bridges across the region as part of CCRC’s capital budget.

Works will be completed over the next three months, and in order of the list below:

  • McFaddens Bridge on Warrakin Road (Detour adjacent to existing bridge)

  • Francis Bridge on Francis Road (Detour adjacent to existing bridge)

  • King Bridge on King Road (Detour via Houston and Murray Upper Roads)

  • South Ramleh Bridge on South Ramleh Road (Northern side, 1 day closure expected)

  • Seres Bridge on Seres Road (1 day closure expected)

  • Koombooloo Bridge (Northern side, 1 day closure expected)

  • Berners Creek Bridge on Nerada Road (minor delays, traffic control)

  • Spiteri Bridge on Spiteri Road (1 day closure expected)

Council advises that detours will be put in place where possible, however some works will require bridge closures for up to one day.

Residents whom own property beyond the bridges will be contacted by Council. If you feel as though you have not been contacted and you may be affected by the closures, please contact Council by phoning 1300 763 903.

Rehabilitation and replacement works will include abutment repair, replacement of decks, girders and kerbs, with works expected to be finalised by the beginning of September (weather permitting).
