LAST CHANCE to let CCRC know about a bus shelter near you
Cassowary Coast Regional Council (CCRC) is calling on residents to provide feedback on existing, damaged and proposals for new bus shelters across the region.
CCRC has developed a map based tool through a website, which allows people to identify opportunities for bus shelters to be added, upsized, relocated and removed.
Cassowary Coast Regional Councillor Glenn Raleigh said the information will assist Council in determining where best to locate the shelters to provide an improved level of service to the community.
"It is important we listen to our community and target those who use bus shelters often to ensure we know which ones need to be there or don’t, or if they need relocating to a better pick up and drop off location," said Cr Raleigh.
"Due to the dynamic nature of the demand for bus shelters this process will need to be done every 3-5 years."
Those who would like to participate are encouraged to visit the interactive website via http://ccrc.meierit.com.au/asset/review/busshelter/public.
Those without access to a computer or the internet are encouraged to visit one of the CCRC Customer Service Centre’s or CCRC libraries where staff will be able to assist.
Council would like to advise that it is expecting numerous requests that may be beyond the ability for Council to fund all requests. The final prioritisation will be decided on by the CCRC who will also determine how much funding will be made available for any changes and additions to the network.
The community consultation period will run until 25 May.
