August 9 2017: Bach to the Bush a crowd pleaser
Fans of Bach and the cello loved a special concert at Innisfail's Con Theatre on Monday night.
Touring musician Anthony Albrecht wowed the crowd with his music and his commentary on Bach, the cello and his experiences as a musician performing both overseas and in Australia.
Cassowary Coast Regional Council hosted Monday night's event with the Friends of the Con.
Almost 80 people came to the Monday night concert where Albrecht performed two of Bach's solo cello suites along with short works of Bach's for cello.
Audience members said Albrecht played the music of one of classical music's greatest composers of all time in a way that was relatable to an audience of both classical music lovers and newcomers to the genre.
Council's next events are Troppo by Circa, a combination of circus dance and theatre on Sunday 27 August in the Tully Multipurpose Centre, and Astronomical, a comedic romp through the universe in a play using six active telescopes, in Cardwell on 23 August, Tully on 24 and 25 August and Innisfail on 26 and 27 August.
