Council levies and collects rates to provide services and infrastructure for the community. Rates and charges are determined as part of the annual budget process.
Rates notices are issued twice a year in August and January.
Payment of Rates
Rates for the period 1 July 2018 to 31 December 2018 were issued on 8 August 2018.
The closing date for ALL ratepayers paying rates is FRIDAY 7 September 2018.
A discount of 15% will apply to the General Rates only and will be allowed if payment of all rates and charges are received on or before close of business on the last day of the discount period as set out on the rates notice.
Rates outstanding after the closing date will accrue interest at the rate of 11% p.a. compounded daily and charged monthly.
Payment of rates may be made using any one of the following options:-
Payment by Bpay
By internet or by phone, contact your participating Bank, Credit Union or Building Society to make a payment from your cheque, savings or credit card account. Please quote the Biller Code 243386 and Reference Number as shown on the front of the rate notice. Also refer to your financial institution for cut off times for processing of payments.
Payment by Australia Post
Present your notice to any Australia Post outlet, call 13 18 16 or go to www.postbillpay.com.au
Paying in Person
Payments can be made in person to:-

Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm
8-40 Bryant Street, Tully
Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
Balliol Street, Cardwell
Monday to Friday 9:00am to 1:00pm and 2:00pm to 4:00pm
Council Offices - Payments can be made by cash, cheque, EFTPOS & credit cards (Mastercard & Visa)
CREDIT CARD SURCHARGE:
A surcharge of 1% will be added to the total amount of payments made to Council at one of our Council offices or via BPoint, using the credit option when using MasterCard or Visa (credit card or debit card)
Payment by Mail
Make your cheque or money order payable to: CASSOWARY COAST REGIONAL COUNCIL and crossed “NOT NEGOTIABLE”. Post to The Chief Executive Officer, Cassowary Coast Regional Council, PO Box 887, INNISFAIL Q 4860. If a receipt is required, tick the “receipt required” box, tear off the stub and retain top portion for your records.
