Environmental Health Services is responsible for the promotion and regulation of environmental health issues that may have an adverse effect on human health. Areas of services provided range from the areas of:

Nuisance control
Council is responsible for noise from domestic animals, regulated devices (e.g. power tools, lawn mowers), spa blowers and pool pumps, air conditioning, power boat engines, environmentally relevant activities, smoke fires, ash, odour, dust and light. The Environmental Protection Agency is responsible for noise from refrigeration equipment and power boat sports. Workplace Health and Safety is responsible for noise from a workplace. Police are responsible for noise from indoor venues, open-air events and amplifier devices.
