Community Assistance Scheme
In order to assist and encourage young people in community, sport, environment, academic and cultural excellence, Council is prepared to financially assist residents of the district by means of a donation for individuals that have been selected to attend a regional, national or international event in their chosen field.
Funding is restricted to under the age of 18 years for the following:
- $50 for individuals selected to represent North Queensland to compete against other regions/districts at a State level
- $200 for team selected to represent North Queensland to compete against other regions/districts at a State level
- $100 for individuals selected to represent Queensland against other states at a national competition level
- $300 for team selected to represent Queensland against other states at a national competition level
- $200 for individuals selected to represent Australia to compete against other countries in a world championship event level
- $500 for team selected to represent Australia to compete against other countries in a world championship event level
Age is open to funding of the following :
- $300 for individuals selected to represent Australia at olympic or commonwealth level.
Applications must be submitted on Council’s Community Assistance Scheme Individual Excellence Application form and supported by written confirmation from the governing body confirming the individual’s or team’s selection. Individuals/Teams can receive financial assistance once only during any one financial year.
Applications may be made anytime throughout the financial year.
