Cassowary Coast Regional Council has affirmed its commitment to the future economic growth of the region, endorsing a terms of reference for the creation of an Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC).

Council recognises the importance of a collaborative economic environment and is committed to an effective partnership which provides a unified approach and harnessing the collective strengths of the regions industry bodies, local chambers of commerce and energetic economic voices.

The EDAC will provide Council with input and feedback to shape the development of an Economic Development Strategy.

Express your interest to serve as a committee member of the economic development advisory committee

Cassowary Coast Regional Council are seeking energetic economic voices to express their interest in committee membership for the Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC).

EDAC committee members will be an integral part in shaping the region’s economic future. Members will provide input and feedback into the shape and development of a Regional Economic Development Strategy. The committee will provide strong economic leadership and regional representation.

Council is committed to ensuring the Cassowary Coast Region is in the best position to take advantage of economic growth and development and understands that a unified approach is key to harnessing the collective strengths of the region’s Economic Leaders.

If you have:

  • A broad understanding of the influence of business and economics on the local community and its social, environmental and economic well-being.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the local issues that are relevant to business, employment, logistics and economic development.
  • A willingness to celebrate the success and achievements of businesses in the Cassowary Coast
