To become an Australian citizen, please contact the Department of Immigration and Border Protection on 131 880 or visit www.citizenship.gov.au to arrange an application.
When your application has been approved, Cassowary Coast Regional Council will invite you to a citizenship ceremony where you will make the Australian Citizenship Pledge and receive your Australian Citizenship Certificate.
In making the Australian Citizenship Pledge you are making a public commitment to Australia and accepting the responsibilities and privileges of citizenship.
