There are so many things to do and see on the Cassowary Coast, we recommend you visit one of our accredited visitor information centres and speak with our friendly staff about the options.

  • This centre is conveniently located on the Bruce Highway, Tully (map). The centre has easy, drive-in access for cars, caravans and motor homes . Disabled toilets and wheel chair access are available.

    The centre has an excellent Interpretive display that describes the history of Tully township, European settlement and the indigenous culture of the area.

    A comprehensive selection of local and regional brochures and maps is available to inform travellers of what is available in the area.

    During the cane harvesting season (June to November) the centre handles all bookings for tours of the Tully Sugar Mill.

    A free booking service is provided for tours and accommodation and free tea and coffee is provided.

    Merchandise available includes:

    • Souvenirs and postcards
    • Cold drinks

    Tully visitor information centre rz

  • The Innisfail visitor information I-VAN is beside the Bruce Highway in ANZAC Memorial Park, at the corner of Glady Street (map).

    Heading north the I-VAN is on the right-hand side of the Bruce Highway, and heading south it is on the left-hand side.

    ANZAC Memorial Park has parking for caravans and RVs. It is ideal for picnics and is a short walk from the town centre and the riverfront.  There is easy access to shops, cafes and the library which has internet access.

    Innisfail has one of the best collections of art deco buildings in Australia.  To learn more about the art deco buildings, the twin rivers, local local history and heritage, take a leisurely, self-guided town walk.

  • The visitor information centre is in the Cardwell Bush Telegraph at 53 Victoria St (map).

    The centre has a wide range of local and regional information along with great views of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and Hinchinbrook Island. We have information on national parks, adventure tourist route Kirrama Range Road, the Forest Drive tourist route, rainforests and the islands of the Great Barrier Reef.  Cardwell is the gateway to Hinchinbrook Island and its Thorsborne Walking Trail, as well as great fishing destinations.

    The Cardwell Bush Telegraph is the old telegraph station and post office whihc was built in 1870 so the visitor information centre is also a great place to look around and learn about North Queensland's pioneering days.

    Cardwell visitor information and bush telegraph heritage centre


  • This centre is located on Porters Promenade, Mission Beach (map). Off road parking is available.

    The Mission Beach centre has a wide range of local and regional information and offers a free booking service for accommodation and tours.

    The visitor centre is adjacent to the C4 Environment Centre which has excellent rainforest and cassowary displays.

    Merchandise available includes:

    • Camping books and walking trail maps
    • Souvenirs and postcards
    • Hats and t-shirts
