Project Overview

The Warrina Lakes Pump Track is a fun and exciting place for the community to ride and foster important skill-building. 

The Pump track is a welcome addition to the Warrina Lakes facility completing stage one of the Warrina Lakes Community Parkland Master Plan. The Warrina Lakes Community Parkland is an important community asset from both a recreational and cultural perspective

Pump Track Features

The pump track has key features that makes it engaging for riders of all abilities- from beginners to the more experienced. 

Warrina Lakes is unqiue, featuring a smaller track for beginners and a larger track that includes rollers and large berms, multiple transitions, dragon back, and doubles. 

Feedback from the community demonstrated widespread support for the pump track design to include a beginners track. 

Grab your scooter, BMX bike, skateboard or mountain bike and come down to Warrina Lakes Innisfail along Park Street for a Wheelie good time. 

Project Funding

The Warrina Lakes Pump Track project was made possible through $400,000 in funding from the Australian Government through the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure (LRCI) Program. This program supports local councils to deliver priority local road and community infrastructure projects across Australia. 

Official Opening Event

Wheels were turning at the opening of the Warrina Lakes Pump Track on Saturday 16 September 2023 with the community eager to try out the new track.

The community flocked in numbers for the Official Opening of the Warrina Lakes Pump Track enjoying all the family fun activities on offer. 

The opening featured a professional demonstration, lucky door prizes, sausage sizzle, face painting and circus activities. 

Council would like to ackowledge World Trails for the pump track demonstration, and to all the stall holders for supporting the event; SES, Etty Bay Surf Lifesaving, RAM Centre, Circus with Purpose and Kazumi, Cairns Magical Face and Balloon.
