Waste Transfer Stations

While we encourage everyone on the Cassowary Coast to reuse and recycle resources at home, there are some items that still need to go to a disposal facility.

Waste Transfer Stations provide the community with a location to recycle and dispose of their waste items. Cassowary Coast Regional Council has 7 Waste Transfer Stations; Stoters Hill (Innisfail), Tully, Bells Creek (El Arish), Cardwell, Murray Upper, Hull Heads and Mission Beach.

Site Entry Conditions

We aim to provide a safe facility for use by all within the community and take everyone’s safety very seriously. That is why we have a set of site entry conditions at all Waste Transfer Stations in the Cassowary Coast region.

Site entry conditions are as follows:

  • Wear suitable enclosed footwear. Bare feet, thongs or sandals are not permitted
  • Compliance with signage and requests of site staff is mandatory at all times
  • Children must be supervised at all times
  • Smoking is prohibited on site
  • Animals must remain in vehicles at all times

Failure to comply with these conditions could result in refusal of entry.

The seven waste transfer stations have different opening hours, see the table below for more information.
