Housing Divestment - Expressions of Interest

River
At the March 2025 Local Government Meeting, Council made the strategic decision to move forward with a staged divestment of the region’s community housing portfolio. This initiative is designed to ensure that housing services are delivered by experienced and specialised providers who can better meet the evolving needs of our community.
The divestment process will enable dedicated housing providers to bring their expertise to the management of community housing, supporting sustainable growth and creating a more resilient housing network for the region.

Council Resolution LG2025/065 approved the divestment of 10 funded freehold properties as the initial stage of community housing portfolio divestment, through an EOI process.

The EOI will be conducted in 3 stages:

1. Respondents must meet the mandatory criteria as a registered housing provider

2. Respondents that meet the Stage 1 mandatory requirements will be given access to the property information and invited to lodge a response to Stage 2 via Vendor Panel.

3. Approvals and Transfer: The successful Respondent will be subject to Council resolution, DOH approval, and execution of a transfer contract.

Stage 1 of the divestment is now open.
