Council is committed to growing our local economy by encouraging new businesses, tourism ventures, and development opportunities.

To support this, Council has introduced the Development Incentive Scheme, which helps reduce the cost of eligible developments that create jobs and long-term benefits for our community.

What is the Scheme?

The Development Incentive Scheme provides up to 100% reduction in infrastructure charges for certain developments that align with Council’s strategic objectives.

This financial support makes it easier and more affordable for businesses and developers to invest in the Cassowary Coast.

 

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible, developments must:

  • Support employment growth, business development, or tourism activity in the region.
  • Align with Council’s long-term economic and strategic priorities.
  • Be completed within three (3) years of the development approval taking effect.

Council’s Development Incentive Scheme is supported by a formal policy and requires a simple application process.

How to Apply:

  • Check eligibility – Review the policy to ensure your project aligns with Council’s objectives and qualifies for the scheme.
  • Complete the application form – Include all required project details and supporting documentation.

Assessment – Council’s Planning and Development Team will review your application and notify you of the outcome.
