Unsealed roads are an essential part of our region’s road network, connecting homes, farms, and rural communities. Council follows a regular maintenance schedule to keep these roads safe and usable.
Cassowary Coast Regional Council aims to achieve a Network Safe Driving Speed of 80km per hour. The Unsealed Roads Condition Report is issued weekly and provides updates on current conditions along with safe driving speeds*.
*Disclaimer: Safe Driving Speed is not a recommended driving speed. It is calculated utilising a World Bank correlation between roughness and speed. It assumes an average vehicle, driven by a driver of average ability, on a straight road in dry weather conditions.
