Recycling doesn’t have to be complicated. Follow these tips to get it right and help us keep the system running smoothly!
Keep your recyclables separated by type. Different materials need to be sorted to be recycled properly.

Avoid bagging recyclables. Keep your items loose in the bin so they can be sorted efficiently.
Small items like bottle caps or straws can get lost in the recycling process. Leave them out of your recycling bin. Nothing smaller than a credit card!
Do not recycle dangerous items such as batteries, broken glass, or food-contaminated containers.
Make sure your recyclables are clean and dry. Rinse bottles and containers before placing them in the bin to avoid contamination.
Soft plastics cannot be recycled in the kerbside bin. They need to be disposed of in your general waste bin (red lidded bin).
