Cassowary Coast region hosts a variety of events all of which share regional diversity, tell our stories and provide new opportunities. On this page you can find a range of resources to assist in planning events.

Licences and Permits

If you want to hold an event, you might need a licence or permit from Council. This helps make sure your event is safe, fun, and follows the rules. We’re here to help you with what you need to do, so your event goes smoothly.

Traffic Management

If you are planning works or organising an event that involves a council-controlled road or footpath area, you need to ask Council for permission before beginning.

Waste Management

Your event planning must consider accumulation and removal of rubbish during an event.

  • Plan Ahead - Estimate attendees and where possible use eco-friendly materials.
  • Reduce Waste - Avoid single-use items where possible, offer bulk food, and promote reusable items.
  • Set Up Recycling – Where possible, provide clearly marked recycling bins.
  • Manage Waste During Event - Monitor bins, train staff, and ensure proper disposal.
