Sewage and Treatment
Every time you flush the toilet, take a shower or use the sink, wastewater leaves your home and enters the sewerage system. Council manages this essential service to keep our communities safe, healthy and clean — protecting public health and the environment.
We operate and maintain a network of underground pipes, pump stations and treatment plants across the Cassowary Coast to collect and treat sewage and trade waste. This network is carefully managed to prevent overflows, reduce pollution, and safely return treated water to the environment.
