Tully Visitor Centre

This centre is conveniently located on the Bruce Highway, Tully. The centre has easy, drive-in access for cars, caravans and motor homes. Accessible toilets and wheelchair access are available.

The centre has an excellent interpretive display that describes the history of Tully township, European settlement and the indigenous culture of the area.

A comprehensive selection of local and regional brochures and maps is available to inform travellers of what is available in the area.

During the cane harvesting season (June to November) the centre handles all bookings for tours of the Tully Sugar Mill.

A free booking service is provided for tours and accommodation.

Merchandise available includes:

  • Local produce, arts and crafts
  • Souvenirs and postcards
  • Cold drinks

Monday to Friday open 9:00am to 4:00pm

Saturday and Sunday open 9:00am to 1:00pm

Cardwell Museum & Heritage Precinct

The Cardwell Museum & Heritage Precinct is at 53 Victoria St, Cardwell.

The precinct has a wide range of local and regional information along with great views of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and Hinchinbrook Island. 

The Cardwell Bush Telegraph is the old telegraph station and post office, which was built in 1870 and is a great place to look around and learn about North Queensland's pioneering days.

Mission Beach Wet Tropics Information Centre

This centre is located on Porters Promenade, Mission Beach. Off road parking is available.

The Mission Beach centre has a wide range of local and regional information and offers a free booking service for accommodation and tours.

The visitor centre is adjacent to the C4 Environment Centre which has excellent rainforest and cassowary displays.

Merchandise available includes:

  • Camping books and walking trail maps
  • Souvenirs and postcards
  • Hats and t-shirts
