Stronger Together- Celebrating Community Resilience

Join us for our Community Open Day celebrating Cardwell’s resilience, history and community spirit, marking the refurbishment of Cardwell Library and the reopening of the Cardwell Museum and Heritage Precinct following last year’s storm damage.

Friday, 9 October 2026 | 10am–4pm

• 10am: Event opening and Community morning tea, Conversation Café: Voices of Cardwell, local poetry readings and trivia
• 11.30am onwards: Museum and Heritage Precinct tours, Cyclone Commemoration Exhibition, Disaster Dashboard workshops, information and interactive stalls
• 3pm: After-school picnic, crafts and activities on the Library Lawn 

Everyone is welcome!

Registrations required for catering purposes.

We may capture photos and videos during library events for reporting, social media, and promotions. If you prefer not to be included, please let our staff know.
