Cassowary Coast Regional Council is encouraging local community groups, clubs and organisations to apply for Round 2 of the Community Projects and Initiatives grants, now open from 16 February to 23 March 2026.

This round provides grants of up to $7,500 to support community-led projects that strengthen local connections, build resilience, and respond to local priorities.

We also encourage smaller funding requests under $500, recognising that modest support can deliver meaningful outcomes for grassroots groups and emerging ideas.

Eligible activities include (but are not limited to):

  • Community events and activities that build connection and wellbeing
  • Workshops, training or capacity-building for volunteers and community members
  • Small equipment or resources needed to deliver community programs
  • Cultural, creative or heritage projects that celebrate local identity

To help people feel confident and supported, applicants can book face-to-face information sessions, with special consideration available for after-hours assistance where needed.

In addition, the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) Round 2 is now open and closes on 13 March 2026, providing even more opportunities for arts and cultural projects across the region.

Community groups are encouraged to get in touch early to discuss ideas, eligibility, and the most suitable funding stream. Contact our Community Development Team on 1300 763 903.

“Whether it’s a small, practical project or a larger community initiative, we want to hear from local groups who are working to make a positive difference. Smaller funding requests are absolutely welcome, sometimes a little support goes a very long way.”
