This April, meet us in Mission for a weekend of celebrations to mark the revitalisation of the Mission Beach Town Centre.

The free community event will take place on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 April 2026, bringing locals, visitors and businesses together to celebrate the renewed heart of Mission Beach.

On Saturday 18 April 2026, the fun kicks off at 7am with a brand-new route for the weekly Paradise Run and prizes for the winners.

Porter Promenade will then come alive throughout Saturday with live music, beach activities, tai chi, face painting, activities for the kids, belly dancing, fashion parade, crab races, and prize giveaways, along with food and drink specials from local businesses across the town centre.

Locals and visitors will have the chance to win a prize pack worth over $1,500 by supporting participating Mission Beach town centre businesses.

On Sunday 19 April, visitors and locals can enjoy the Rotary Mission Beach Markets and be on hand for the business bingo winners to be announced, as well as participate in Wearable Weaves workshops at Castaways on Pacific Parade.

The community is encouraged to come along, explore the revitalised space, support local businesses, and celebrate everything that makes Mission Beach special.

Parking is available on Porter Promenade, and over 50 off-street carparks are available off Campbell Street and Endeavor Avenue.

About the Revitalisation Project

Mission Beach, home to Australia’s second-largest lowland rainforest and the country’s highest density of cassowaries, is one of Far North Queensland’s most unique and beautiful coastal destinations.

The Mission Beach Town Centre Revitalisation Project represents the first major investment in the town centre since the 1970s.

The $21.5 million project has significantly reshaped Porter Promenade and the beachfront precinct – opening clearer views to the foreshore, strengthening infrastructure for the future, and creating a safer, accessible, and more welcoming town centre for locals and visitors.

The project has delivered important upgrades including improved pedestrian areas, lighting, shade, accessibility, and stormwater infrastructure.

The project was jointly funded thanks to $7.9 million from the Australian Government, $3.5 million from the Queensland Government, and $9.7 million from the Cassowary Coast Regional Council.
