Meet us in Mission: Community celebration at Mission Beach

MB-Event-Corflutes.png

You’re invited to 'Meet us in Mission' to celebrate the revitalised Mission Beach Town Centre!

The free community event is happening on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 April 2026, bringing locals, visitors and businesses together for two days of beachside activities and to celebrate the renewed heart of Mission Beach.

On Saturday 18 April 2026, the fun kicks off at 7am with a brand-new route for the weekly Paradise Run. Porter Promenade will then come alive with live music, beach activities, tai chi, face painting, activities for the kids, belly dancing, fashion parade, crab races and prize giveaways, along with food and drink specials from local businesses across the town centre.

Then on Sunday 19 April, locals and visitors can enjoy the Mission Beach Markets and participate in one of three Wearable Weaving workshops.

The event is free and open to everyone, with plenty happening throughout the day for families, visitors and locals alike.

About the Revitalisation project

The celebration marks the completion of the Mission Beach Town Centre Revitalisation Project, a major investment in the heart of Mission Beach.

Mission Beach, home to Australia’s second-largest lowland rainforest and the country’s highest density of cassowaries, has not seen major capital investment in its town centre since the 1970s.

The project has delivered important upgrades including improved amenities, lighting, pedestrian access, shade and stormwater infrastructure - helping create a safer and more welcoming town centre for the community and visitors.

The project supports the long-term future of the area by encouraging tourism, supporting local businesses and creating a more vibrant community space.

The project was jointly funded by the Australian Government, Queensland Government, and the Cassowary Coast Regional Council.
