Priority projects set for Innisfail CBD revitalisation

We have now taken the next step in revitalising the Innisfail CBD by endorsing the prioritisation of two major project packages from the Innisfail CBD Revitalisation Master Plan for detailed design, funding advocacy and future delivery during the Corporate Plan 2025-2030 period.
The priority projects are:
- ANZAC Memorial Park / Northern Gateway - indicative 2023 Master Plan Waterfront
- South Part A and Fitzgerald Esplanade Part A - indicative 2023 Master Plan
These projects have been identified as the most practical and impactful priorities to progress first from the broader Master Plan.
The revitalisation of the Innisfail CBD is about more than physical upgrades.
We want to strengthen Innisfail’s identity, improve public spaces, support local businesses, encourage investment and create a more vibrant and welcoming town centre and waterfront for residents and visitors.
By focusing on these priority projects, we can concentrate our efforts on detailed design, stakeholder engagement and funding advocacy, while taking a staged and realistic approach to delivery.
The cost estimates in the 2023 Master Plan are indicative only and will be reviewed through detailed design, investigations, approvals and market testing.
Delivery will require a funding partnership between the Australian Government, Queensland Government and Cassowary Coast Regional Council, with timing subject to funding availability and future budget decisions.
