The Cassowary Coast Regional Council’s vision is for the Cassowary Coast to be the most liveable tropical community, and that includes ensuring our region is a place where everyone feels they belong.
We are proud to present the Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2026–2030, which sets out our vision for improving accessibility, inclusion and participation across the Cassowary Coast.
This plan was shaped by our community, and in particular people with lived experience of disability.
We heard directly from people about the challenges they face each day in accessing buildings, public spaces, transport, information, and services.
People also told us that these barriers not only affect physical access but can also impact their independence, connection, and participation in community life.
