2027 Australia Day Awards

Celebrate those making a difference in the Cassowary Coast community.

Nominations are now open for the Cassowary Coast Regional Council’s 2027 Australia Day Awards, to help recognise the outstanding individuals, groups and organisations who make a meaningful difference across the region.

Mayor Teresa Millwood said the awards are an important way to recognise the people and groups whose dedication helps shape a stronger, more connected Cassowary Coast.

“These awards are about recognising dedication, community spirit and service. They remind us of the extraordinary contributions being made across the Cassowary Coast and give us the chance to say thank you to the people and groups helping our region thrive,” Mayor Millwood said. 

2027 Australia Day Award categories include:

• Citizen of the Year
• Young Citizen of the Year
• Lifetime Contribution
• Community Event / Project of the Year
• Community Volunteer Champion Award
• Sports Person of the Year
• Sustainable Environment Award
