The Cassowary Coast Regional Council is calling for Expressions of Interest from local First Nations artists and creatives to participate in the Cassowary Coast First Nations Art Show 2026.

This vibrant exhibition will take place during National Reconciliation Week on Tuesday, 2 June 2026 at the Innisfail Shire Hall from 10.30 am to 6.00 pm and will celebrate the rich cultural heritage and artistic talent of First Nations people in the region.

Council is inviting emerging and established First Nations artists with a connection to the Cassowary Coast region to submit up to four original artworks or creative pieces for display.

Submissions can include a wide variety of mediums, such as:

  • painting

  • fabric and fibrework

In addition to showcasing their work, artists can also express interest in receiving business and marketing support through Council’s Economic Development Team.
