Council Backs Local Business as 2026 Awards Open

Cassowary Coast Regional Council is excited to announce that nominations are now open for the 2026 Local Business Awards.
If you’re running a business in our region, this is your opportunity to step forward, share your story, and be recognised for the impact you’re making in the Cassowary Coast.
Local businesses are the backbone of our community. From primary industries and trades to tourism, retail and professional services, local businesses create jobs, drive innovation and shape the identity and liveability of our region.
The Local Business Awards celebrate excellence, leadership and commitment across a wide range of categories and provide a platform to showcase success and inspire others as we continue to grow stronger together.
Categories include:
- Outstanding Business Achievement
- Excellence in Community Engagement
- Professional Services Customer Excellence
- Trade, Retail and Services Excellence
- Leading Employer Recognition
- Rising Star Business Award
- Environmental Sustainability Leadership
- Innovation and Technology Excellence
- People’s Choice Business of the Year
Businesses can nominate themselves in one or more relevant categories, ensuring the Awards remain accessible and inclusive across all sectors.
Community members are also encouraged to participate by supporting their favourite local businesses through the People’s Choice Business of the Year Award.
The 2026 Cassowary Coast Local Business Awards will be held on 15 May 2026 at Innisfail Shire Hall, bringing together businesses and community members for an evening of recognition and celebration.
