Have you thought about doing business with Cassowary Coast Regional Council?

Council’s procurement team are hosting an online ‘Doing Business with Council’ session on Thursday 19 March 2026, from 6:00pm to 7:00pm AEST.

The session is designed to provide local suppliers with greater clarity and confidence in navigating Council’s procurement processes and improve the quality of submissions when engaging with Council.

The session will focus on two core areas:

• Accessing Council opportunities - how suppliers can identify and respond to opportunities, including an overview of VendorPanel and the steps required to register, monitor, and submit responses effectively.
• Improving submission quality - guidance on how suppliers can strengthen their tender responses to improve their prospects of success.

Draft agenda:

1. overview of Council’s process for advertising anticipated projects for the financial year
2. understanding procurement policy principles, thresholds, and requirements
3. insight into how tenders are structured
4. a walkthrough of response schedules
5. use of the VendorPanel online tendering platform
6. schedule for register of prequalified supplier refresh
7. accounts payable purchase order requirement and payment verification process.
