Cassowary Coast Regional Council wishes to advise Shell Pocket will remain closed until and including Friday 5th June 2026, due to unsuitable site conditions.
Once site conditions improve, works will complete the Shell Pocket Road/Wing Creek Stormwater Renewal Project, including pavement and bitumen sealing works.
To allow the work to be completed safely, Shell Pocket Road will be closed to all traffic for the duration of the work.
This project has improved stormwater flow capacity and extended the service life of Council infrastructure.
Works are anticipated to be completed by Friday 5th June 2026, subject to favourable weather and site conditions.
Alternative routes will be available via Jackson Road and Steels Road.
These works are jointly funded by the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) and Cassowary Coast Regional Council.
