Cassowary Coast Local Disaster Management Group advises people in the Cassowary Coast Local Government area that the THREAT IS REDUCED.
The Bureau of Meteorology has removed the Cassowary Coast region from the Severe Weather Warning and Tropical Cyclone Advice associated with Tropical Low 12U / Tropical Cyclone Koji.
Separate flood watch, flood warnings, and marine wind warnings have been issued by the Bureau of Meteorology.
For non-life-threatening flood and storm emergency assistance, contact SES on 132 500, 132500.qld.gov.au or the SES Assistance Qld app on Android or iOS.
In a life-threatening situation, call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
What are we expecting?
- Closures of some roads due to flooding.
- Possible pothole, tree branches, and debris on roads.
What you need to do
- Never drive, walk, ride through, play or swim in flood water. If it’s flooded, forget it.
- Stay away from creeks, rivers, and drains.
- Travel to the conditions, obey all signs about road closures and instructions from emergency services.
- Plan your route carefully to avoid any flooded or damaged roads, and you may need to allow extra travel time.
