Waste transfer stations this weekend
Published on 09 January 2026
This weekend, parts of our region are likely to experience severe weather associated with Tropical Low 12U including heavy rain, strong winds, and possible flooding.
To ensure community safety, the Murray Upper, Bells Creek and Hull Heads waste transfer stations will be closed the weekend of 9-10 January 2026.
Our staff will be deployed over the weekend to waste transfer stations at Stoters Hill (Innisfail), Tully, Cardwell and Mission Beach. These stations will be open.
If weather conditions or flooding affect the accessibility and safety of any of these stations, we will advise the community.
We thank the community for your understanding.
Do not drive on flooded roads. If it’s flooded, forget it.
