Project update – Etty Bay Road

Cassowary Coast Regional Council has commenced works on Etty Bay Road bridge to improve access and traffic safety for residents, businesses and all road users. Contractors are two thirds of the way through the project.

What’s happening?

The existing one-lane bridge will be removed and replaced with a two large culverts and be reinstated as a two land crossing, improving traffic flow and safety through the area.

Project status

  • Detour construction complete for traffic use while works are underway.
  • The one lane bridge was demolished and two culverts have been placed in the creek bed.
  • Works are now underway, to reinstate the road way with two lanes.  
  • Scheduled water main upgrade works completed
  • Telstra service relocation works have been completed

During construction

  • Vehicle access will be maintained where possible
  • Traffic management will be in place
  • Please follow all signage and directions to ensure safety
