Kennedy Esplanade Landslip Remediation

Council advises that landslip stabilisation works at the southern end of Kennedy Esplanade, South Mission Beach, will continue longer than originally anticipated due to unforeseen circumstances encountered during construction.

Soil nailing works are currently being undertaken to stabilise the landslip area, which occurred during Cyclone Jasper. To ensure the safety of the community and contractors, the following closures remain in place:

The southern end of Kennedy Esplanade, including the boat ramp, remains closed to vehicular traffic.
The toilet block at the boat ramp remains closed for the duration of the works.

Works are now expected to be completed in early August 2026, weather and site conditions permitting.

Council apologises for the delay and appreciates the community's patience and understanding while these important stabilisation works are completed.

Please continue to follow all signage and stay clear of closed work areas.
