Celebrate those making a difference in the Cassowary Coast community

Council is calling on the community to help recognise the outstanding individuals, groups and organisations who make a meaningful difference across the region, with nominations now open for the 2027 Cassowary Coast Australia Day Awards.

The annual awards provide an opportunity to publicly celebrate, acknowledge, and honour those working tirelessly to improve the Cassowary Coast community through personal achievements, inspirational leadership, community service, and the successful delivery of projects, initiatives, and events that promote the social, cultural, economic, and environmental prosperity of the region.

Delivered locally by Cassowary Coast Regional Council as part of Australia Day celebrations, the awards reflect Council’s vision to foster community pride, strengthen community engagement, build capacity in volunteering and not-for-profit organisations, and celebrate who we are and where we live.

Mayor Teresa Millwood said the awards are an important way to recognise the people and groups whose dedication helps shape a stronger, more connected Cassowary Coast.

The 2027 Australia Day Awards Ceremony will be held at the Mission Beach Resort on Friday, 22 January 2027, ahead of Australia Day on Tuesday, 26 January 2027.
