Dive into Australia Day with Cassowary Coast Pool Party Events

Cassowary Coast community members are invited to dive in and splash out at free Australia Day Pool Party events being held across the region.

Cassowary Coast Mayor Mark Nolan invited the whole community to the annual event which includes free admission.

“We’ll be putting on some entertainment and local community groups are hosting the bbq sausage sizzle lunch,” said Mayor Nolan.

“What’s more Aussie than a sausage sizzle by the pool!  So come along and enjoy a great day out with family and friends at one of our Pool Parties this Australia Day.”

The Australia Day Pool Parties will be held on Friday 26 January 2024 at the following locations:

  • Innisfail Memorial Baths- 10.00am to 2.00pm.  
  • Mission Beach Aquatic Centre- 10.00am to 2.00pm. 
  • Tully Pool Facility- 3.00pm – 7.00pm. 
  • Cardwell Pool Facility- 3.00pm – 7.00pm.

Supported by the Australia Day Council, Grimsey’s Aquatics and Cotter Aquatic Swim and Fitness.  Community groups hosting the fundraiser BBQ sausage sizzles include Friends of the Con, Tully Netball Association, Cardwell Volunteer Coastguard and Mission Beach Scout Group.

The Australia Day Pool Parties follow a day of celebration on 25 January when Council will host the Citizenship Ceremony, Cassowary Coast Australia Day Awards and Youth Sports Bursary at the Innisfail Shire Hall.

Cassowary Coast Australia Day celebrations are assisted by the Australian Government through the National Australia Day Council.
